Attorney Karyn L. Todd was raised in Michigan. She has dedicated her studies and career to persons who want to immigrate to and legalize their status in the U.S. Attorney Todd began her work in the immigration community while a law student participant at St. Thomas University Immigration Law Clinic at St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida.

Karyn Todd is fluent in Spanish and has represented thousands of immigrants in obtaining permanent residency, asylum and citizenship in the United States. She has litigated cases throughout the U.S. including the states of New York, California, Michigan, Georgia, Texas, Arizona and Florida. She has extensive experience litigating asylum cases before the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Immigration Court for her clients. She has experience in litigating complex immigration cases for her clients, such as the asylum; cancellation of removal and preservation of residency for aliens after the commission of serious criminal infractions; release from detention; and securement of reentry to the U.S. after deportation.

Karyn Todd has argued cases before the Board of Immigration Appeals, resulting in the reversal of Immigration Judges' decisions after a client has been ordered deported.

Karyn Todd has represented professionals in Consular Processing and petitions with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration services. She has conseled her professional clients and business owners as to the various avenues available for them to legally live and work in the United States. Karyn Todd has experience in visa representation such as:

Karyn Todd has argued hundreds of cases before the Immigration Courts and Board of Immigration Appeals. She has successfully reopened cases for her clients after being ordered deported and stopped their deportation from the United States. Karyn Todd's experience and knowledge has resulted in the reversal of denials of decisions by the Immigration Courts.

Karyn Todd was instrumental in the passage of such important federal legislation as Temporary Protected Status for victims of Hurricane Mitch in Nicaragua and Honduras.

In recognition to her devotion to the immigrant community, Attorney Todd was appointed by the Florida Supreme Court to fill a three-year position on the Florida Bar's Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. Her work in the committee protects immigrants by prosecuting individuals that give legal advice without being a licensed attorney. This problem is a serious issue in Florida. Attorney Todd works hard to protect new immigrants from being abused by unqualified individuals.
